— BJARKE INGELS, the founding partner of BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), is part of a new generation of architects that combine shrewd analysis, playful experimentation, social responsibility and humour. Voted 2011 Innovator of the Year by the Wall Street Journal and the recipient of the Venice’s Golden Lion in 2004, Bjarke and BIG have recently gained international acclaim for their Waste to Energy Plant in Copenhagen, which advocates “hedonistic sustainability,” and their new West 57th Street Residential Building in New York.

— ALEX SCHWEDER LA is part of a nascent group of architects turned artist who perform architecture in the space of the gallery. A Rome-Prize winner and Princeton Graduate, Schweder La’s work has been exhibited at SFMOMA, the deCordova Museum, the Sculpture Center, New York, and Art Basel Miami. His projects have been funded by the Pollack Krasner Foundation and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. Alex is a three-time artist-in-residence at the Kohler Company and was recently an artist-in-residence at the Chinati Foundation, Marfa, Texas.

— JERSZY SEYMOUR is an experimental and commercial designer who defines design as the create of “life situations.” He has designed for Magis, Vitra, Kreo, Moulinex, SFR and Idee. His work has been exhibited in the Design Museum, London; the Vitra Design Museum, Basel and Berlin; the Palais de Tokyo, Paris; and Gallery Kreo, Paris. It is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Fonds national de art contemporain, France, among others. In 2007 Jerszy’s “Living Systems” was included in the “My Home” exhibition at the Vitra design Museum and in 2008 he realised his installation “First Supper” at the Mak, Vienna.
